"I'm undaunted in my quest to amuse myself by constantly changing my hair." Hillary Clinton

God I love our politicians.

"After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one." Cato the Elder

This is a great quote!  In ancient times like these there were so many powerful, but wicked people getting honored with monuments.  Cato points out that greatness didn't come by placing monuments of yourself everywhere, rather the monuments came from your greatness.

"A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul." George Bernard Shaw

This is a terrific quote from Shaw.  In fact it's one of my favorite.  Its so simple and yet so true about any Government, ancient or current, and unfortunately future.

The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. - Joseph Campbell

Often times doing what you fear the most holds the greatest rewards!  Take the risk, take that leap of faith, go the extra mile.

"The best helping hand that you will ever receive is the one at the end of your own arm." - Fred Dehner

The best way to get something done is to do it yourself.  Too many people these days rely on others to get by, rely on handouts to make their way.  Carve your own path, and realize your potential.

"The most unhappy of all men is he who believes himself to be so." - David Hume

The most depressed people I know are the ones who declare themselves in a state of depression.  Look on the brighter side of things, your situation is not so bad.  It will get better.  Time is constant, and before you know it, the thing that's getting you down will be in the past.

"Many people take no care of their money till they come nearly to the end of it, and others do just the same with their time." - Goethe

Today's quote is about the sanctity of life.  Goethe is saying that many people don't start taking care of themselves until they are in their old age, much like how people treat their finances.  It's never too early to start eating healthy and getting exersize.

"Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise." - Anon.

Today's quote is one of my personal favorites.  It has to do with taking risks, living life to its fullest potential.  Too many people play it safe, they never have a little fun.  That's what life is all about.

When's the last time you took a risk voluntarily?

"Only the Dead have truly seen the end of War." -Plato

Today's quote is a rather famous one that you may have heard, but in light of a conversation I had yesterday I felt it relevant.  There will never be an end to war, there will never be world peace.  There will always be someone in control who wants more land, money, power, or to be holier in the eyes of his God or Gods.

"The reason that people use a crucifix against vampires is that vampires are allergic to bullshit..." - Richard Pryor

Today's quote is from one of my favorite comedians, Richard Pryor.  The thing I love the most about this quote, aside from agreeing with it completely, is the amount of balls it took to make fun of Christianity back when Pryor was doing his standup.  That was hardly ever a routine you saw!

"Freedom of speech means that sometimes incredible assholes win."

Love this quote.  It's from a youtuber that is quite popular, theamazingatheist.  He said it in one of his videos where he posted his view on whether or not the mosque should be allowed to go up in New York near the World Trade Center site.  He said that it falls under freedom of speech, and that's the shitty part about freedom of speech:  sometimes incredible assholes win.  Let me know what you think!
