"The most unhappy of all men is he who believes himself to be so." - David Hume

The most depressed people I know are the ones who declare themselves in a state of depression.  Look on the brighter side of things, your situation is not so bad.  It will get better.  Time is constant, and before you know it, the thing that's getting you down will be in the past.

  2. I have to agree that most "depressions" are just self induced, catalyzed by stress and low self esteem.

  7. A lot of people claim to suffer from depression like it's some sort of clinical illness. It's simply a state of mind. I agree completely with your statement above.

  11. i always think of it like this:
in 500 years, everyone on this planet will have completely forgotten me, so it doesn't matter at all if I feel embarrassed or stupid or if I can't ask a girl out/ whatever
it just totally doesn't matter, so we should just have fun instead

  20. I've known a few people like that, infact, for one of my ex-girlfriends, this is typical behaviour. Liking the long island ice tea suggestion from Quetopia though.
